Domination

c Microsoft 2005 c Sony 2006

So here the epic battle wages.......Which do you think is better? In my opinion I think the X box 360 is better because of the online interaction. You can play online, search the X box marketplace, or even use web cams to actually see the people you are talking to. I am sure you have seen several parodies on the Playstation 3 like "Hitler loses his X box" or the song "PS3 Sucks". They basically pick on the Playstation 3 and pick on Sony for it's high price, it's lack of internet capabilities, and the lack of games to play. Don't get me wrong I loved the playstation 2 because of the decent graphics, the enormous amount of video games to play, and the online capabilities. However, the X box 360 came out and basically everyone ditched their Playstations and went for a X box 360. There are two things that I believe that killed the Playstation 3. The first one is it's high price because who is going to buy that expensive of a system. I know the hardware that is inside the Playstation 3 is all high tech and top notch but people aren't going to want something that expensive. Also, the release date for the Playstation 3 was a lot later than the X box 360. This let people enjoy the X box and took people's attention away from Sony entirely. Also, there are no good video games out for it. So who is going to want to buy a Playstation 3 when they most likely have a X box 360, when the system costs an arm and a leg, and when there are no good games out for it. The answer is simple; No. The X box has all that people want. The X box 360 doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It's at a decent price and there are good games out for it too. Also there are endless online options which make people happy. This means that people are able to play a game online from all around the world. Oh wait, you can even rent movies online with X box gamer points. The Playstation 3 sure did put up a fight but with the good titles of "Halo 3" and "Oblivion", X box 360 sure wins the fight.

Well in my opinion I think that the PS3 is underrated. The PS3's hardware is superior to the 360 in more ways then one. The PS3 has the advantage of WI-FI, BluRay standard, HDMI standard, and a sexy outer shell. The PS3's downside is the lack of games. The titles that Microsoft bought rights to were more like a big guy kicking the little guy over. To me, Microsoft is a fantastic company and is dominating the market. I really don't see the difference in price. Any gamer is looking at spending a lot of cash. the 360 ranges from 299 to 399 where the PS3 ranges from 499 and 599. These models are different in HD space and a few other tweaks. Think about this, a new release game for any system is $60. After buying 5 games you have spent 300 bucks. Any gamer is going to have generally more then 5 games and this totally means nothing to the price. Seriously. Price doesn't mean much in the next-gen system race. I think both are great machines, but the PS3 is underrated.

II personally would like a PS 3 because I have grown up with playstations and all my games are for playstations, so You know what I like playstations lol.

Oh don't get me wrong, the graphics are very good and I mentioned in my first response that the hardware is far more superior to the hardware in the X box 360. I also have grown up playing plays station and all of the franchises of games like Final Fantasy and Resident Evil. I do enjoy the play station and what it has to offer and understand what you are saying. The prices are outrageous but any good gamer (like us ha ha j/k) is going to have to realize that a good system like the plays station is going to cost an arm and a leg. That's just one of those things that you have to deal with if you want quality video games that they are Sony and Microsoft are developing.

Yeah I definitely agree on that the PS3 hardware wise is really solid. The thing is hardware doesn't sell the device. Its all in the games if developers would actually make them good enough so they don't run choppy. I have no clue what the problem is I am a Xbox man and always will be when you have a tittle as solid as Gears of War or the franchise of Halo in your system then what are you going to do. Halo 3 alone sold 170 million in the first day and over 300 mil in the first week. There is no game out there for any system that will be able to compete with the fan base of Halo. The closest might be Gears of War 2 but we will see. All I know is the PS3 needs to get some solid tittles out so it will get in to compete with the 360.

Ya, The play station 3 has it's benefits for sure. I mean you don't have to pay for playing games online, and the graphics can reach a much higher level than X box 360 can. Also, there are much better racing and adventure games out for the play station 3. I say this because these are the games that you like, which were mentioned in your blog. I would go with the play station 3 in your case because the X box 360 lacks racing and adventure games, unlike the play station 3.

I agree with JD on this one, the PS3 is a high quality machine, it's cell processor is incredibly powerful, the PS3 has also shown itself to be far more reliable than the Xbox 360. Right now it definitely does have a lack of good games, which for now gives the Xbox360 the upper hand, but that could very well change later int he game, the 360 had the advantage of being the introduced before the PS3. Many people like Xbox live and that is one of the main draws to the xbox for a lot of people, but being the cheap bastard I am I prefer the free online plat I can get in PC games and on the Playstation. I have used Xbox live and I really don't see it as anything incredibly special or worth paying for, and the 'Silver" member ship is completely useless because you can't even play a lot of games online with it.

Yes, the major reason that the X box 360 is preferred is because of the date it was launched. It was launched a long time before the Play station 3 was released. Then a lot of people started buying it and getting comfortable with the X box 360 and all of it's features. This still confuses me because the Play station 2 was a huge hit and so many people switched over from the Play station to the X box so easily. This right here has to tell you that the X box 360 must have a lot to offer and a lot for people to do if it can switch people's preference that easily. However, if the Play station 3 can find a way to get some good new games out, I can see the X box 360 losing it's customers very easily.
